Building work AGAIN

Now its time for the final decoration inside:

We finished our little shop aside from the gecko-cafe and now it lookes like this:

this is how it was before:

Soon the new shop, including several internet-places, will open besides the entrance to the Gecko-cafe in Othavadai Cross St 13.

The buildingwork started in July and will finish by the end of September.

Mani in Dresden Newspaper

Mani got an article in Dresdens local Newspaper. He did give his interview at the beginning of June, before he left back to India. Today it was published. You can read it all here:

Die Einladung an alle Gäste / Invitation to all guests: 




Nach der Runderneuerung des Gecko Cafes  ist nun alles bereit für die Saison, deren Auftakt in allerspätestens Ende November erwartet wird.

After the total re-paint the Gecko-Cafe now is completly ready for the fresh season, starting end of November:

The GECKO CAFE is FRISCH GESTRICHEN!! FRESHLY PAINTED!!



Mani und seine Jungs waren nicht untätig während des kurzen Monsuns.. Das Gecko wurde neu gestrichen (darum auch neue BLOG-Farben!) und die Möbel gepflegt.

Mani and his boys have not been lazy in that very short monsoon. The Gecko got new paint (and so did the BLOG) and the furniture got a good polish, too.

DER OZEAN VOR  MAMALLAPURAM WAR GIERIG IM SEPTEMBER!! / GREEDY OCEAN OF MAMALLAPURAM RETURNED THE BEACH IM SEPTEMBER!

Das Wasser ist aber erstaunlicherweise wieder zurückgegangen und hat ein bisschen Strand hergegeben. Sogar recht sauber. Jetzt kann man wieder spazieren gehen.
The water went back again and gave back a little bit of the beach, mostly clean now. Good for a walk.




Im Oktober hat sich der Ozean den Sandstrand einverleibt- das Wasser kam sehr nahe an die Strandrestaurants, so dass diese mit Sandsäcken befestigt werden mussten.

In October the ocean did steal the beach. The water came very close to the sea-shore restaurants. Walking along the beach was impossible for a while, sandsacks were needed to keep the water in control.
